Food and Health
The Food and Health specialization area of the Campus e-MTA is concerned with training, research, and innovation in diverse fields of nutrition and health, from both the clinical and pre-clinical perspectives. Studies and research in nutrition cover the whole food cycle: plant pathology, animal reproduction, food quality, food biotechnology, food engineering, nutrigenomics, personalized nutrition, and diet-related pathologies. Basic science includes lines such as bioorganic and supra-molecular chemistry, protein engineering, molecular and cellular biomedicine, and drug design. Preclinical aspects cover cell therapy, tissue engineering, human genetics, cancer biochemistry. Finally, the clinical lines range from infectious diseases, nephropathy, cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, metabolic syndrome, immunity, oncohaematology, digestive inflammation, reproduction, and mental diseases.
